John 15:13
Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.
We live in a time marked by self-interest and self-centeredness—
a world where striving to survive and succeed for ourselves is often seen as natural and necessary.
Yet in the midst of such a world, Jesus showed us a radically different way.
A love that lays down one¡¯s life for a friend. This is sacrifice.
Christian ethics speaks of living for the other—
a life not centered on oneself, but oriented toward others.
Jesus lived this way, and the fullness of that life was revealed on the cross.
Because He loved, He willingly chose sacrifice.
And that way of Christ still calls to us today.
In our own lives, there are moments when we are asked to lose,
to let go, to wait, and even to surrender.
Yet we believe those moments are never in vain.
For it is in the place of sacrifice that true love is born
and that love ultimately becomes the power that moves the world.
Through this year¡¯s festival,
we seek to reflect once again on the sacrificial love of Christ
in a time when the word sacrifice can feel unfamiliar or difficult.
We invite stories of those who willingly gave themselves for others,
stories of quiet faithfulness practiced in unseen places,
and films that bear witness to the love of God revealed through such lives.
We warmly invite your interest and participation.
